EDITING
Editing is reviewing and changing a document by making additions, deletions, or other changes to conform to an agreed-upon standard. Editing is commonly done to all documents for publication or public presentation.
Editing is a complex activity of preparing a manuscript to meet its readers. Editing is concentrating on three basic aspects of any manuscript or written communication;
Language and Grammar - making sure the document has a good use of grammar, punctuation, spelling and consistency so that the reader can concentrate on the message not the language flaws.
Structure and Organization of the material, making sure your reader can follow your argument and points.
Style - making sure your manuscript follows conventions of style, guidelines, standards specific to the material, the topic or area of expertise.
The last stage in the editing process is the Proofreading, a last and final review of the manuscript before publication or release. Proofreading makes sure the material is completely free of spelling errors, inconsistent formatting and unclear content.
