Standard Freelance Editorial Agreement
The Standard Freelance Editorial Agreement was created in 1985 (updated 1999) by the Editor's Association of Canada as a template for describing the nature and terms of a work agreement between an Editor and a Client. The Agreement covers all aspects of the collaboration including and not limited to: editorial responsibilities, deadlines, fees and reimbursements and limitations of liability. The attachment, Schedule A describes in detail different types of editorial activities the Editor and Client agree upon and the work to be done.
The completed and signed form is a legally binding document.
The services included in each individual Agreement are customized to suit the job at hand and signing the Agreement is a mandatory step in requesting and providing Editorial Services
